(quoted from post at 11:13:29 09/01/21) Yes there are laws but there is also a way to turn a salvage title into a regular title if you take the car to a special inspection center after repairing damage.

I think the bigger worry is the mandate that, IIRC, 50% of vehicles sold by 2025 must be electric. Not NEW VEHICLES sold, but vehicles sold! Think about that for a second...

(quoted from post at 14:08:09 09/01/21) Start a new business have a generator to drive around to recharge EV that have run out of juice on the road.

Care to quote your source? There is no such mandate that I can find.
The only thing I see is the use of words "shared aspiration" and figures of 40-50%. I speculate that they know it's not a realistic goal, which is why they haven't even defined the can to kick down the road.
(quoted from post at 13:15:35 09/01/21) I just spent 10 minutes looking and don't find ANYONE else making this claim. Some states have made regulations regarding new car sales restrictions, such as WA. state and CA. but nothing mentions used cars at all. What country you in? gm

Can not do that in the North east or in Canada . The road salt used in the highways will ruin an untreated vehicle in 5-7 years . If cleaned and oiled regularly , 12-15 years . 20 years is a real stretch . Everything is rusting through and stuck ..(quoted from post at 08:53:41 09/01/21) Used cars will be given away?
I'm not worried. I plan to keep my old cars and truck.
Can always rebuild engine, rebuild transmission
and get parts. .
My 2005 car is still running great.
My concern is will they tax the heck out of gas and diesel?
I watch counting cars. They can do a total rebuild and make car or truck into a custom.
There may a new business. People doing total rebuilds and turning your old car into a one of a kind classic.

It is an Executive Order, made Aug. 5th and Executive Orders have no legal standing and are unenforceable.I
EO's are a way to placate the squeaky wheels for awhile.

My mistake relying on my memory. It's 2030 and NEW vehicles. The "all vehicles" part was the entire US Federal gov't fleet. https://news.yahoo.com/nnalert-sign-order-aiming-half-090047307.html
