Finally got the head gasket for the 420.
Had a couple hours yesterday morning.
Off with it's head! Out with stuck valve
( sure was easy to remove when you can
tap it both directions) replacement
valve in, head back on. Water pipe thing
next, but wait, that thermostat looks
terrible, let's swap it. First bolt
comes right out....... Second one broke!
Drill, try screw extractor, nope. Drill
more, tap, off to parts store for
thermostat and bolt. Project on hold,
off to Birmingham airport to pick up our
oldest son. Maybe the Deere will drive
out of the barn today. Renee says we are
going to buy it........ Lol !

Nope! Classic green and yellow. I think my wife is wanting to buy it to make my dad happy. He drives his cub around while wearing a JD hat!!

Buying a Farmall hat would be way cheaper!

are you saying you pulled out a bad valve and just replaced it with a new one is what i am reading ?

Rustred.... Yes valve appeared fine but was stuck. Causing a bent push rod and mangled valve spring. Also bent the tube that the rocker arms ride on. All replaced.
