New Ford is running

Got the 640 running today. Clean carb, plugs, wires, points and condenser. Runs pretty good. Loader works off the 3 point lift handle. Well.... It ain't lifting. Full of fresh clean fluid, it was totally empty, supposedly hasn't run in 10 years. Took the plug out of pump, no fluid comes out with it running. Proof meter works, so I assume the pump is turning. Any ideas?

Tractor was in barn for repair, loader was way up the driveway. Once we hooked it on we decided to back the tractor back to the barn! Lol.

No fluid comes out this plug with motor running. I spilled fluid trying to fill it

If the pump is above the oil level it may have still not picked up prime.

Can you gently put some air pressure on the tank, force some oil to the pump?

Old,
I had a broken spring in my pump.
It would lose prime. If memory is right it Worked on 5 of the 6 pistons.

The plug you are pointing to is where you prime the pump.

On my Jubilee, to add oil to the sump, use the large plug on the left side under the seat.

I rebuilt the pump on Jubilee. Mine had a broken spring. It would lose its prime.
Had to bleed the pump before using it.

I would recommend you take the pump apart then order only the parts you need.

I ordered every part I could before rebuilding. Replaced parts that were still good.

Two parts to the problem
One is whether your pump is working which others have addressed
If so your lift arms will work
When your lift arm work normally, the loader will still not lift unless your have or separate valve or you limit the range of the lift arms
When DAd bot a loader for our NAA, they put a metal strap around each rear axle attached to piece limiting the lift arm to just above horizontal
When you raised the control, the fluid went to the least resistance
If the horizontal drawbar was empty, there drawbar came up to the limit before the loader came up
if the drawbar was loaded, say a full spreader, the loader would go up to full height before the drawbar lifted the spreader tongue
I should note the loader cylinders were single acting
Hope this helps

For my comments below, it would be helpful to know whether you have a bypass valve
A pic of the area around your position/draft control would do it

Nice 640. How hard is it to replace the spring in the pump? Have a NAA that the pump is losing prime as well. Like this 640, it sat for 7-10 years unused.
