Ford 1710/770B hydraulics

I just got my 770B front end loader for my 1710. It was removed from another 1710.
Everything seems to be exactly right, except there is an additional metal tube that runs from the bottom of the (single lever) 770B controller that I cannot identify. Everything is still painted with the original Ford blue paint, so it must have come that way originally.
Can anyone tell me where this tube is supposed to go?

It could be the control valve you have is set-up for power beyond function to power up a backhoe in addition to the loader. This allows hydraulic flow to go thru another valve downstream from the loader valve using the original source.

Thanks for the post, Roy. I am sure that you are right. It looks like I either need to plug that output or just get a backhoe to hook on the other end of that pipe.

Roy may very well be right BUT when you go to end of the stroke in one of the loader cylinders the valve has to have somewhere to dump that oil. That may not be a power beyond but instead the drain for the valve or the out. WITHOUT counting the work lines (should be 4 on top) how many lines do you have going and leaving the valve. I am thinking there is one more piece that bolted to the tractor that received that blue tube you are talking about.

Hi Jm. I do have the 4 work lines going from the top of the valve forward to the loader. Then two lines drop out the bottom of the valve and go to the inlet and outlet of the manifold block on the side of the tractor. That blue tube also comes out of the bottom of the valve and goes to the rear of the tractor for about two feet, where it just stops. I think you are right about that one more piece that this line goes to. I think it's the feed line to the backhoe that is still on the donor tractor that my loader came from. That seems to make sense to me, now. What do you think?
Like I told Roy, I think I either need to plug this line or buy a backhoe to hook it to.

Send me an e-mail with a good phone number let,s discuss this farther I do not want you messing something up Like your loader valve.

I finally found it, jm. You can see here that you were correct and the tube runs back to where it enters the side of the tractor. Since this is hard tubing, it will point directly to where it needs to be attached. All I need now are some fittings.
You have saved me a great amount of grief. Thank you a ton for taking the time to help me.
