Why it takes a half day cleaning and
organizing pole barn and in less than a
half hour it's a mess?

On that topic I once visited the Shaker Museum in Kentucky where I learned one of their mottos and which works for me living in an RV half the time:

A place for everything and everything in its place when not in use

Needs to be a continuing cleaning/organizing system. LOL.

Guilty of this myself. When I turned wrenches for a day job, my system was to pick everything up, put everything back, and sweep the floor after each completed job. Even the most basic of tools such as a plain screwdriver that I knew I would use on the next job would get put back in its place, before starting something else. Incidently, it kept me using correct and preferred tools all the time, instead saying, oh heck, I'll try this wrong sized this or that because I already have it out and it'll save me a walk to the tool box.

It sounds like your pole barn is too well organized. I can walk around for an hour trying to find what I need. When I finally give up, the barn is no more messy or dirty than when I started.

Jt.
I bought a 10x50 house trailer while in college. Take a half hour to clean it. Sometimes to be said about small house.

I think that can be best answered by someone that can wrench on diesels all day in a white shirt, and go home just as clean as when he started!

It sure ain't me!

This, pick up and put away, sweep and cleanup before punching out of the work order. The job made the mess, the job pays to clean up the mess. When I was wrenching, most couldnt figure out why my billable efficiency was almost 100 percent.

The worst part was doing shop work and service calls. Pick up all the tools and go on a service call, get back to the shop, just get started on something, pick up, head out on another call.

My truck has 3 of the largest toolboxes I could find in 2007. Stocked with complete set of tools, nuts, bolts, screws and most things I would need to repair a rental property

Now I only have rentals within walking distance of the pole barn.
Still nice to have tools in pole barn and tools to make a repair.

Let me know when they have an industrial AI vacuum sweeper that can pick up a hundred pounds of dirt at a time.

I used to do most of the road calls out of our shop, so I set up and stocked the 1 ton dually, service body shop truck. The other guys used to tease me that given enough time, I could build a new line truck out of that truck.

It's the I will do that later syndrome which is a sub paragraph of Murphy's Law.

I have had my shop cleaned up countless times and vowed I would keep it that way then;

-The sky is turning grey, cut hay is ready to be baled and something breaks.

-It's minus 40 outside and getting dark, the cows need to be fed and something on a tractor breaks.

The list goes on and on, no matter how hard you try something always manages to start a small pile of parts and tools that seems to grow faster than a snowball rolling downhill.
