Hit the wrong button--here is the picture

Seen a guy one time using cinder blocks like that to jack something up. Only, he kept breaking them. He went to get co-worker who had done it successfully before. Asked him what he was doing wrong. The second guy said, well ..., you can't put the cinder block in there like that. You got to put em in there with the holes going up and down, and not sideways. And also put board on both top and bottom of the block. All still unsafe, but it worked.
I'd of went and found more wood blocks. And not used cinders at all.

NO--never use a concrete block to hold a concentrated load with the hole horizontal--put it vertical and with a piece of wood top and bottom to distribute the load

High School Principal where I taught in 1975 died under a Pontiac Star Chief from sideways blocks. Only wood or real screw adjust bottle jacks, or Jack stands. Jim

Big tee. Great post. If just one person learned the dangers it was worth it. Our young men and women going to nursing and medical school will never be without a job! Wingnut

yes--i don't think cinder blocks have been made for many years---they do make light weight aggregate concrete blocks nowadays

Ya wana bet--This pic is from 2018 and I just got it built--Took the end loader on the door end and the forklift on the other and got it skidded out of the shop then put a Deere with a loader on each side on one end and the end loader on the other and backed my gooseneck trailer under it and took it 3 mi. to town and weighed it. Weighed 9920 with no hitch or the rolling basket and brackets on it! It is made from 2 13 shank Glencoe soil savers.---Tee

If you leave it just as is, yes, it is safe but if you intend to lift that imp. with those jacks and blocks, no it is not safe. I think you know that. You are just yanking our cranks.

Today I am trying to stay warm on a cold Winters day--Three years ago when I built it I was going to send these pictures to a buddy but never did and I forgot all about them--But today I found them and we will call them pictures for jacking safety--plus have a little fun...Maybe I will keep someone from getting hurt!---Tee

It is 20 ft. wide--takes 8 30 in. rows. What I met by 2 soil savers is the parts off of them--The 4 in. heavy wall square tubing is filled with metal and there are twice as many--It has the complete disc assemblies off 2 soil savers--The spools weigh 50 lbs. apiece and the list goes on..---Tee

That would be awful to try to pull down the roads here. My 15 foot sunflower soilsaver is a pain.
