Can someone please help me identify this tractor

The numbers don't match what the tractor looks like. Stamped 640, but looks like an industrial 4040. included any numbers I could find in the pictures.

I can not see the pictures in his post without high lighting them one at a time then opening it in a new tab, so in case others can't see them here are some of the pictures from his original post.

(quoted from post at 20:03:31 03/04/22) Thank you so much for doing that! It would not let me post the pictures for some reason.

Often new users need to have more than 5 posts on record before the site's spam filters allow posting pictures. In the future you may have better luck with answers if you post about this unit on the Ford Forum down below.

Look on the rear axle and engine and tell us what these numbers are. (see picture)
From this we can date the tractor and see if it fits the 1801 or 4040 time frame.

From the pictures you have posted (front grill) that is either a 1801 or 4040 with a transmission transplanted from a 640.

In addition to john in la, look at the top of the radiator, if original there should be a month-year date which is close to the production date (example below). I've also linked a thread from 2009 that has good information on dates, differences etc.

Other things to note: Does tractor have cable steering? Does it have PTO and/or three point hitch (often missing on Industrials originally configured as a tractor loader backhoe). Any evidence of the original paint (1801s we're red and grey, 4040s were red and buff which is a yellow).

Engine numbers are 0825 or 0B25
Axle numbers are JF?5
Radiator numbers are 313131 L 1.59

Thank you all for your help!

Radiator 1.59 would be Jan 1959 which
would make tractor an 1801 series. Exact
model number would depend on what
transmission it originally had and if it
had PTO and/or 3PH.
