I was reading where EBAY is notifying the IRS of sales over 600.00. I haven't sold anything of EBAY for years. Most part sales were small motorcycle parts. Any of you sell on EBAY? Stan

Yes, not just ebay but all other type internet platfo where the company is the deal facilitator.
In 2021 ebay had to issue a 1099K on sellers with annual sales of $20,000 and more.
Starting in 2022 the law was change so that the IRS can get a bigger cut.
So now annual sales over $600 get a 1099K issued.

We sell a bunch of parts on various sites. We accept Paypal. We will get a 1099. Price of doing business. It is what it is ....

For years, my cpa sends 1099 forms in January to anyone who does work for me over $600.

There was a time lawmakers were discussing requiring me to send 1099s on any business I spend over $600 in a year. Glad that fell threw.

The bigger issue are tax cheats who want the government to pay their disability and work for cash...

You can't believe how many people on disability want to rent from me. I tell them their income to rent ratio isn't sufficient for me to rent to them. They say. I can pay the rent. I work for Cash. They get very upset when I say NO WAY will I rent to someone who can't prove their income..
