I have quite a few of those, one is a high quality one that I rarely use. That simple version like yours gets used constantly.I have one on the side of my drill press,it's the fastest way to check bit sizes.Every pan of drill bits I have has one of those in it.Good for quick checks on bearings, races, spindles, shafts, dozens of things. Some black iron pipe now has odd OD's,checking with one of those saves fighting with fittings only to find the pipe is .010 bigger than the fitting is for.

I have one of those and used to use it all the time. But my go to now is the $5.00 Harbor Freight one. Can bang it around and its reading still mattes my expensive ones that I give the white glove treatment to.
