Mowed with the old 172 today.

Hey ya'll, been a good long while. Took the WD out to the ditch with the 172 mower today since it finally dried up. Took a little video of it in action:

Had to use an impact to get the drawbar bolts out and replaced them so I could set the bar back far enough to use the mower. I think I need to lower the hanger pins another notch next time, as when going up or down a decent valley, I could hear the PTO shield occasionally smack the top of the hitch block.

47fivewindow -- Thanks! It has worked well for me over the past 10 years or so.

Richard G. -- Indeed. Glad to put the old iron to work every now and again!

If you flipped the drawbar over it would give you a couple inches for clearance. IF needing more than that you would have to adjust something else.

Hmmm didn't think about that, that's an interesting idea.

I need to either lower the hitch on the mower or raise the PTO shaft on the bracket so they don't interfere... just need to see which way works better on the tractor (want to make sure it won't hit the PTO shield and that I don't need to move both to make the proper clearance).
