If you want to see old clanky junk like this in action, come to the Historical Construction Equipment Association's big show in September, on the 23-25, in Bowling Green Ohio. There will be all kinds of equipment in action, including some steam powered ones.
There will be hundreds of pieces of antique equipment, tractors and trucks on display or engaged in various construction/excavating projects on the property, but the highlight of the show (again...) might be the incredibly handsome guy in the swap meet area selling old engines, NOS friction clutches & brake bands for construction equipment, and a few Gibson or Power King tractors.
