East central Sask.
A nice change from the previous day's cold and wind and rain. Saturday was sunshine, blue sky and seasonable temps with hardly any wind. Good day to ride the open JD 2140 and hay rake pulling swaths together. Later that evening I got it all baled with the 2090 Case. Cool enough at night I had to turn the cab fan off on the drive home. A photo taken on the sidehills where I was raking for a while.

Wanted to ask about the post you did with the 730 Case mowing trails - could that land be cleared and placed under cultivation? Seems like a lot of good acres just growing trees and weeds and grass. Ron

Yes, a lot of that land could be cleared and burned. Becoming more boring wide open spaces of crops. I don't want that. We have enough crop land and really enjoy the nature preserve we have here on these 5 quarters. Someone in the future may clear it all down to bare farm land but hopefully I'll be dead before I have to see that happen.

No you didn't upset me Ron. I've just seen so much destruction of habitat around here in my lifetime that its a bit depressing to look at and remembering how it used to be. Some no doubt only see the lost opportunity letting all that wild land grow when it could grow crops. I really appreciated the shelter from the wind while working around those bushes on the open 730 a couple of days ago.
