The original subject was 72 3020 scv problems.

TRACTOR IS A FORD 5030 IT HAS A WOODS ALL FRONT END LOADER
THAT WORKS FINE
AS SOON AS I SWITCHED THE SVC
LEVER TO THE REAR, THE BALER
GATE OPENED , NOW IT WON'T
COME DOWN IT NEVER HAD ANYTHING HOOKED INTO THE REAR HYDRAULICS, ANY IDEAS?

How many outlets do you have on the rear of the tractor. Picture would be nice.

What baler? May have a lockout on baler to keep gate up for service work.

Need more details.

Hello Mike welcome to YT! Are you connecting to valves that are original to the tractor? Do the hoses to the loader go directly to the loader cylinders or are they feeding a valve spool mounted separate for the loader? If the hose connects to a separate spool valve you should be able to operate a loader function and the use the factory spool valve ..SCV to stop it or disengage the flow? If not you are connecting into a ..live pressure.. line or ..power beyond.. intended to only feed the loader spool valve. Pictures would be great, but you will probably find you cannot post them until you have made 5 post. This is a spam dump protection the forum host uses. Also surprising that a poster here with 3000 some posts cannot tell that you are replying to an ..old post.. and that is what gave you your JD subject line. Good luck. If you do not come up with an answer here it may be a good idea to post this on the Ford specific topic section. See the ..Hop to.. or ..Jump to.. drop down box below to find it.

Thanks. I do not know anything about tractor hydraulics except to use them, but I wanted to start baling my own hay so I bought a used JD 430 baler as my tractor had rear hydraulic line hookups which a 430 only requires 2. My wifes cousin husband and I removed the top cover and replaced the o- rings but it did not solve the problem

I think so too, a friend and I took the top off and replaced the o-rings but unfortunately it did not fix it

My baler has a valve that prevents the gate cylinder from lowering the gate unless there is pressure on the retracting side. This assures that there is pressure to operate the gate lock. Try revering the hose connections.

(quoted from post at 23:43:26 09/20/22) if I Can I'll post pics tommorow

Welcome to YT
I'm not familiar with your model Ford tractor but I'm very familiar with JD 430 rd baler. Can you please post photo of valve on tractor you changed?

Is baler hyd gate lock valve in ""fully open position""?
