I looked out of my office window and saw a whole flock of robins on the lawn. Still the remains of some snow flurries on the lawn from yesterday.

A bit early for robins, isn't it?

Early for robins depends on where you live. It is late for robins to first appear where I live. They generally show up mid to late February here. This year, around here, the willows are putting out leaves, the daffodils are getting to the end of their blooming, some ornamental cherry trees are blossoming. Spring is definitely here, where I live.

We had some robins about a month ago and we still have a couple feet of snow. Was outside a bit ago and heard a morning dove, still two feet of snow. Gordy in Mn

We've had mourning doves all Winter. We feed the birds on our front stoop and the doves are great at cleaning up the mess that chickadees and blue jays make searching for the best seeds.

I've always been curious about Robins. They're here now and seem to know when Spring has sprung. Maybe they sense the day length. Maybe we don't understand them. Man cannot know everything.

I didn't have robins this year in my area. That's a first for me since I've been living here (since 1996). Grew up here, but went other places.
