Ole Bullet at the pull

Much as expected it didn't do too well. I took the weights of some time ago and with the rules about using the lowest gear that hi/lo transmission in 1 lo it just spins the tires. Since this was just a fun
pull they let my try again and I pulled in 1 hi and got a ways down the track. That Massey is kinda like me, the weight is in all the wrong places. And I didn't intend to stir up a participation ribbon
controversy. I just kinda slunk off quietly and parked. I did complete the 3 things Barry asked me to do for him. Good day.

rustred: This morning I posted that I was taking my son's MF65 to a pull. He passed away a year and a half ago and always wanted to pull but then would back out. It was something I promised him I'd do there at the end. No info needed.

ok, i saw your massey tractor a bit down here. well there is a lot more than putting it in gear and opening the throttle. plus i presume its the antique pulls which i do here. do you have fluid in the tires? what is your tractor weight? you need to match the tractor to the class so you have even competition. i also presume your in class one, 4000-4999 lbs. but you might be in bantams class under 4000 lbs. which i think you are. you need to weighted up with fluid or wheel weights. always to the maximum in class. plus tire pressure ,... run about 6-8 lbs. plus depends on track condition. soft track less pressure. use your throttle, it will be nothing but low gear as 2nd gear u will power out. start out slow and keep increasing your speed as the tractor pulls down making sure you dont break traction. just takes practice. 2 different people on the same tractor makes a difference, as experienced and inexperienced. and how far did you pull and against what tractors. all info comes into effect. and how many tractors in that class?

Wjy,

Awesome way to honor your son's memory!!

And does not seem possible that it has been a year and a half since his passing.

God bless you, Dad!

Steve ..... Unless they get participation ribbons as well .... ha! Just kidding. I have no issue with awards based on merit or for simple participation, when you think about it, who really cares? I suspect it is those that like to get little plastic trophies and badges made offshore that object to the ribbons.

This is a fun pull. Winners got a little plastic medal. There was free coffee for everyone at the concession stand.
