7110 magnum

Too muddy to unload cleaned spring wheat seed yesterday afternoon so up early this morning to unload on the frozen ground. Bought the 7110 new and it is and has been a really good tractor. It was my primary tractor for several years till we expanded the farm and I went to 4wd tractors. Just under 5000 hours on the tractor. It will stay on the farm even after I retire. If I was to do it all over again I would still buy the magnum tractor but probably with the front wheel assist option.

Deere only dairy farms would buy boxcar Magnums and put them on a manure spreader.
You could put si habla Espanol operators in the cab and not destroy the tractor.

I have a 7240 MFWD which I have declared is probably the best overall, and the nicest to run tractor I'll ever have. I have a newer MX270. My declaration still holds.

Very good tractors those boxcar magnums. I've had my 7130 since 96 and its got well over 9000 hours on it now. Its had a few little bugs in the system over those years but nothing major. Still got the original Goodyear dura torques on the back but looking at replacement this spring as they are pretty short on tread.

They are as a whole good tractors. We have a 7110 with 10,200 hrs, a 7120 with 12,500 something hrs, and a 7150 mfwd. All were bought used to this farm. The 7110 gave us and the dealer fits for awhile with the cross piece in the differential when it initially went out. All of the replacements were not heat treated and hardened unbeknownst to anyone other than CNH. Once the dealer and the area blockman got together after the 3rd time with 25 to 75 hrs runtime per repair, they put new 7120 guts back into the rear end. It's solid now. The 7120 hasn't required anything other than regular oil changes, filters, and such changed. The 7150 just received a rebuild on the turbo and injection pump at 8k hrs. Otherwise it has been flawless. Talk about a powerhouse with that tractor !!

I've had good luck with my 7120 I bought about 17 years ago. The only expense I've had was a new a/c compressor a couple years ago and I put new Michelins on the back last summer that made a big difference over the original Goodyears it came with. It'll turn 6,000 hrs this summer.

Your paint is way better than mine. There was a 5 year warranty when I bought the tractor and the paint started going bad the second year I owned it and they would do
nothing about it. Kept inside except when it was in the field.

The hood on mine is bad despite always being kept in a shed when not in the field.

I've noticed a few of these Magnums where the red paint is fading through to the white underneath. Somehow mine is still pretty much red. Might be getting a little thin on the roof but otherwise good. I try to wax the hood once a year and think that makes a difference.

They are a pretty solid tractor. Downsides are the cheap cab interior, poor excuse for a seat and poor visibility out the back window. They did have more than their share of electrical issues. I would precede to drive JD 4455

I'm not sure what you consider cheap about the interior of the boxcar magnums. +9000 hours and mine is just fine. As is the seat. And I've spent hundreds of hours looking out that big back window pulling the combine and can't ever remember complaining about the view. Electrical issues? Well my exhaust temp gauge has not worked for years but thats about the only one I can think of.

I have managed to wear out the seat cushion on mine. Zero electrical issues so far and yes the view out the rear window is awesome until you are trying to put your swing
auger into a tall 10,000 bushel bin. I have to let the air out of the seat and hunch down to do it. But Im 6 feet 2 inches tall. Its a great tractor.
