More buggies hauled

Took another trip up north for more buggies. All the fire danger signs along the way said EXTREME, and still people were out burning grass and trash. It sure was windy. My pickup read 90 degrees while I was up in the Thorp area. Cooled down to 82 by the time I got home. So much for April showers

The front buggy is all aluminum construction. Guy has been making them for four years now. Supposed to pull a lot easier even though it weighs the same as a wooden buggy. They also cost a fair bit less than a new wooden one. Paul said he priced a wooden one at $13,000 and this one cost $7500. This is the first one bought by the local Mennonites.

(quoted from post at 06:22:53 04/13/23) Can a guy get an EV model for $13,000?
Do the buggies have tail lights?

You mean like the lights on the buggies in the picture?

Some I have seen drive an alternator from a wheel hub and use LEDs.

Oh that warning doesn't apply to them. After all, they know what they're doing. They're being careful. It's for stupid people.

Or it's just a flat out act of defiance against what they see as "government overreach" or an encroachment on their "freedoms."

Apparently, I'm free to let a fire get out of control and burn my house down, my neighbors' houses down, and/or countless acres. I guess you are, but are you considering the consequences?

We have a flat-out burn BAN here in NY state until mid May. Doesn't seem to slow anyone down. Saw plenty of brush piles billowing black smoke yesterday.

Most people need to experience a scare for themselves. Then they're "born again." They'll be wagging their finger in your face telling you no no no... Nothing worse than an "ex smoker."

Yeah, but are all the buggies going up and down Rte 98 in western Wyoming County running signal devices? I can tell you from my
experience living in the Finger Lakes Region a fair amount do not. Still kind of curious as to how they handle the manure dropped
from the horses at the Tops Market in downtown Penn Yan, NY.

Do those buggies have steel wheels or rubber? The Amish have steel wheels around here in Central Va. Some do have rubber tire loaders at the sawmills.

These are Mennonite buggies, so they have both rubber tires and lights.

Amish buggies in my area have steel wheels and reflectors only. Many of them pretty much have the same view as some on here - Government has no right to tell them how to live. Whether they get killed or kill someone else is up to god. It is a pretty crappy viewpoint, really.
