My dad sent me this on the side of the road to day. I was hoping someone could tell what the model was and if it would make a better haying tractor than a farmall m. Also what would be a fair price for this if it is in good cond. i also sort of collect these old gems it if worth picking up to have or it a pretty common tractor. Sorrt for so many questions in one post but wifi is spotty so if i get a chance i post.

WD or WD-45. I can't tell from the picture which one, someone else may be able to. I do know that if the spin-out rims are rotten, it will cost $$$ to replace them. From a hay making standpoint, this tractor has kinda-sorta live pto with the hand clutch. Just have to remember to pull the hand clutch and NOT to hit the foot clutch when you want to stop the tractor but keep the pto going.

Based on the intake manifold being up turned on the ends I think it is a WD45. the WD engine manifold is more straight across. Just from looking! Jim

the ride leaves little to deside if hayfields are rough.
im gonna say wd 45.if gear shift lever is straight its a wd

We ran a baler with a WD-45 when I was growing up. It did a fine job.

One slight drawback to the hand clutch is that you are reaching forward with your right hand to pull it, while at the same time trying to look over your right shoulder to watch the baler. That can get a little awkward. But otherwise, plenty of power to do the job.
