Need advice on Dearborn single Cable plow for 851

Hi. Had an old 2 cable snowplow for an 8n w pulleys from front axle to 3pt. Kinda sucked. got rid of it.

Need a plow for an 851 and a guy is selling a single cable plow that works off the upper rocker arm of the 3pt and bolts under the tractor the same as the Dearborn hydraulic plow. I looked at it and kind of liked it as I don't have to worry about hydraulic lines and leaky cylinders associated with a hydraulic plow.

Anyone out there familiar with these? do they work well? what are the probs? Do you like them?

Thanks and regards.

Don't know the single model but had that 2 cable version for over 60 years and liked it, no problems. If I didn't have to move I would still have it.

I've had the twin cable type for Ns and
Hundreds. They worked fine but it was a bit of fooling around to install them.
I had a single cable one for a 3 cylinder thousand series. It also worked fine but took time to install.
I currently have a hydraulic lift model for my 3000 that takes time to install but I like the best.
There is the main frame, push frame and plow.
I can leave the main frame on the tractor year round. Then it is 3 pins and a quick disconnect hydraulic fitting to attach or drop the plow frame.
Also, with a cable lift you are limited to one implement on your tractor. With a hyd lift style I can - and do - put the back blade on also and use them both. Or use my boom pole for lifting stuff.
