What is this on my John Deere?

Ihave a John Deere 300b. In the picture I circled a 90 that has a plug in it. Can you tell me what it is for? Maybe for rear remotes?

The parts catalog shows a pipe plug there for access to adjust the parking brake.

Someone MAY have used the port for some sort of hydraulic ''return to sump''.

They may also have lost the plug, and used a reducer, a reducing el and then a smaller plug.
Because that what they had at the time.

My 1020 has the same. As Double07 suggested, it was a hydraulic return to the casing by previous owner.

Not a smart way to return oil to the sump .
