I'm looking at a tractor to buy, I'm not sure what model it is as there are no identifying labels on it. I think it may be a Massey. Stamped on various places on the transmission, etc. are the letters MHF with different numbers following it. An example is MHF-182-840-M1. Can anyone please give me info about this tractor? Thank you

Is this a utility type tractor with 3 point hitch? Does it have a drag link on each side that goes to an arm on top of each spindle, or does it have just one drag link on the left?

Yes, it has 3pt hitch and pto, I'm not sure what to look for as far as the drag link.

The drag link, or links, is part of the steering system. It connects the steering box to the spindles.

OK, I'll have to go where the tractor is and check it out again and get back to you. Thanks a lot for your help.

The casting number you listed does not come up in the 65 parts manual...

How bout a pic? Or the serial number on the dash, or the engine number (by the starter) should start with z134 or something similar...

Cheers
Aaron

MHF stands for Massey Harris Ferguson. I'm guessing it could be a 50 or possibly a 65. Need some more info to know for sure. Dave

Thanks for the reply. About the only things I can tell are that the tractor has a 4 cylinder gasoline engine and is two wheel drive.
