First, Thanks to everyone who help with my Magneto problem earlier....that's been solved.....finally got this thing started, but there seems to be very little throttle....it's either running like hell or shutting off.....there's no in between.....I'm thinking the govenor isn't working correctly......carb is totally rebuilt.....any comments??....thanks again

Is you throttle rod adjusted properly? With the throttle on the sterring shaft at full throttle, and the arm on the carb at full throttle, the throttle rod from the gov needs to be half a hole short

linkage is all fine.....could be a little out of adjustment, but when I throttle the carb by hand, I don't feel any pulling on the linkage from the govenor.....and I expect to feel something??.....and no, I personally haven't had it apart,.....it was off the tractor a month ago, but I didn't do anything to it,......it appeared fine, but that's not saying much given my experience with a model b....

Just a thought, when the carburator was rebuilt, were all the tiny passages cleaned? I think there are 7 of them, and nearly impossible to find when they are plugged. Out '49 B ran like a hit-n-miss engine until we located and cleaned all those passages. Had to use the cleaners from our torch set to clean them. Runs pretty good now though.

Also, depending on what model you have, there may be a little screw on the throttle linkage that is used to shut the tractor off. Make sure that this is not prematurely opening the spring on the top of the carburator.

Good luck.

Well, one time my Model A JD engine was stuck. Pins that held the weights onto the drive gear broke loose, so then it shaved half of the weights off, causing them to be off balance. It ran like s hit until we got it fixed
