Farmall Super A oil pressure

Tractor runs good, however after using it for about 1/2 hour, the pressure drops from 40 lbs to about 5 lbs, and maintains itself. Any idea what the problem may be?

With that engine, the FIRST thing to check is if the oil pump cover is warped and not sealing to the pump body. This is COMMON.

If you check the archives at the Farmall Forum, you will find out about removing the pump cover, and sanding it flat, using the appropriate sheet abrasive laid on a piece of plate glass.

I had the exact same problem on mine. I put a water pump on to keep the block cooler, and BAM, no more oil problems. I think with some wear on the bearing, when the oil would warm up and thin out it wouldn't stay in the bearing jornals. Mike
