As I am getting older I am supposed to eat more fruits and vegetables and less meat. I had an orange for breakfast this morning. It had a big thick peel and the rest had very little juice in it. Where are the good quality oranges we used to get? Is Mn. too far away from California and Florida?

It's a crap shoot.

Some bags are nice juicy oranges. Some are dry. Some are pains to peel. They all look and feel the same to me in the store when I buy the bag.

Have to realise that the good fruit is exported, that's why I buy Californian grown oranges otherwise, domestically, you get the rubbish.
Yes, you are getting old and the colon needs all the help you can give it..an apple a day keeps etc!!!

I get a couple of bags a week at Sam's - if the peel feels thin chances are they are good ones, thick skin means they are dried out - California ones are usually the best.

Dry oranges are ones that were frozen on the tree take them back and get your money tell the dealer that he shouldn't sell culls for full price.
