In Regards Of Winter Wheat.

I was wondering if anybody else has noticed that the Winter Wheat is going to be early for harvest this year again like last year?
Here in Central, Ontario, Canada, I have noticed that the Winter Wheat is out pretty much in full head. Normally this takes place in early weeks of July, not in June.
I never paid attention to it last year, but when I saw those Combines out in the fields in the early weeks of July, instead of the early weeks of August.
I said right then at Wheat Harvest, we are going to be in for an early, and long winter. Boy, was I right.
So is why I was wondering if anybody else noticed earlier than normal Winter Wheat coming out into head, or earlier than normal harvesting with Winter Wheat. So far it looks like a repeat of last year.
Thanks. Bruce.

My dad is going to be 78 on the 12th of June. He has farmed all his life and has cut wheat on his birthday 3 or 4 times. Not this year, wheat is going to be cut 10 days to two weeks after the 12th here in central KS.

I have sold the family farm in western Nebraska, and live in the Mountains West of Denver but the wheat there is just headed out, and that means 6 weeks until cutting, so it means a little later also. Normal is around 4th of July, but have cut in the last of June.

During a crop tour this morning of my spring wheat. I noticed my neighbour"s field of winter wheat 1/3 headed out.
Thought it seemed early as well. That warm week in April must have advanced the crop in combination with winter moisture at that time.
It"s rained 3" here in the past five days. Usually 1/2" to 3/4""at a time so it"s soaking in rather than running off.

I'm 45 to 50 miles east from Goderich. Not to far from Stratford. North west of Stratford. Where bouts are you from buickand deere?

Another up date. Looks like the Winter Wheat around Big Springs NE will be ready about July 14th. This is later than normal. Sold farm last year, so don't have to worry about the BIG WHITE COMBINE. But sure do miss playing in the dirt.
