baler roller reconditioning- VA, MD, PA?

I have a MF 560 (Vermeer 650C) round baler that needs to have its formerly rubber-covered roller re-vulcanized or covered in some manner. It has almost all of its rubber gone.

I have been in touch with Red Rock Rubber in Iowa, and they quote $165 to recondition it but I suspect that shipping my roller to and fro will be very costly. They also seem like a half-baked operation- phone number doesn't work, cant get them to give me a number I can call.

I live near the top of VA. It seems to me with all the farming in MD and PA that there must be some company nearby that reconditions rubber rollers on balers.

Anybody know of one- OR another approach (such as a spiral wrap of a rubber strip)?

Thanks

$165 seems awfully cheap, i paid $200 20 years ago, roller needs to be done again but today i will have to fork out $650,- same outfit + 100 bucks freight. new one is $ 800.- here in Can.
i doubt if it is a DIY job
