Area around ManisteeLudington got a rain that was radar estimated at up to 12". Washed out roads, flooded houses - a real mess. So far the dam is holding, recently renovated. To add insult to injury, they had a tornado in the same storm. This comes on the heels of a storm that made a mess out of the Allegan County area, last week. Town of Marshall also ecperiencing flooding. Don't remember a early summer like this... Up until week ago, out are was near drought conditions. Gt about 2" over a couple storms. Still could use more, in the next few weeks. don't emember farmers irrigationg fields pre-emerging crops before. Crazy weather!

Please post back with an actual amount of rain that fell in your area, I have never seen more then 5 inches in one day in the SE mich. area. 12" is a lot of rain, a lot of homes and roads would be washed out if that happened here.

It was very close to 12 inches of rain. It rained heavily from midnight on for 6 hours i believe the news said. US 31 up through there is closed as the road washed out and is now a huge gully. Many other roads are impassable too. View video to see it at WOOD website. All this came on the heels of last weekends rains. Prior to that we had drought conditions, weeds got a headstart on soybeans, took beans nearly 20 days to pop up after we got some rain. Gonna have to use a preemerge next year.
