rain - central MN

I have been reading here that central MN was in need of rain. Over the past weekend I traveled north from Twin Cities on MN 47 and 65 and back south again. There was water standing in the fields (don"t remember exactly by which towns) so it looked like they got their rain.

I was needing rain, very, very bad. Hardly had any on my ground the whole month of July. Sunday I got 2" or rain outa 3 different storms. YAY! North of me they got hardy any that day, as you went south some got more some less. In the sandy soils near clear lake and some around here they are still very , very dry and a decent crop is unlikely, if any for some people. I was blessed Sunday so I should be good for a while.

Dave what town do you live by? I think you told me once before can't remember though. Have a brotherinlaw in Alexandria. He's got 12 acres of corn and beans. I know he needed some rain.

I am 7 mile east of St Cloud. close to the Sherburne/Benton county line.
