Picking Corn...Rates?

I have been helping the neighbor using my picker and tractor to pick some late season cob corn. Its easy picking flat ground, long rows, and going through the old picker really well. No one in this area picks much so what is a going rate on picking? I just want to be fair and reasonable cause I am having a blast giving the picker a workout.

The Custom Rate Survey from Iowa State says the average rate for corn picking is $26.70.

The low is $24.00 and the high is 31.70.

Seems a little high to me but you be the judge.

Unless you're not that concerned about making money just figure up your expenses and let him pay that. If you decide to make money charge him by the acre,at least $20-$30/acre.

Corn picking.

Combining corn is $28.10 average per acre. As per Iowa State survey.
