OT/something I heard

I think it was on Texas Country Reporter last night that I heard this. They said that there were so few farmers left in this country that the U.S. Census Bureau no longer listed "farming" as an occupation. Anybody know if this is true? What do I have to call myself,an "agriculturalist"? Back when we were milking cows, the boys and I called ourselves "bovine lactation extraction technitions",but the cows are gone. I need a title.

Back in 1956 I was working a summer job at a locker/custom butchering plant. The owner asked me one day what I planned to do after graduating from Ag school...was I going to be a farmer or an agriculturist? I asked him what is the difference, and he told me a famer makes his money on a farm and spends it in town. An agriculturist makes his money in town and spends it on a farm.

Take your choice.

Well, right after I sold the dairy cattle, until this beef thing started making money,I called myself "my wifes tax writeoff". The guys at the coffee shop said they were gonna have a T-shirt made for me with that on it.
