Took these pics on christmas eve day. Wanted to get some hay out before the weather got bad. We ended up out in a nice snow shower. It made for some nice pics and a white christmas.

Nick helping me put the hay out for the cows.

The ice storm we had the week before sure made the net wrap a pain to get off.

But sooner or later, the bale is unwrapped.

The cows didnt seem all that happy about the snow.

We got soaking wet from the snow and fighting with the net wrap, but still not a bad way to spend christmas eve morning. There is just something about being out in the fresh snow and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature.

Hey Bill,

Great pics, looks all too familiar though.

One thing to try with the net wrap is to raise the bale up and drop it on the ground before you feed it. I do it all the time and haven`t broke one yet. It kinda busts the ice and snow loose so the netting doesn`t stick together or stick to the hay.. Let me know if it works for you. BW

Nope, the one in this first picture is the 1969 console, synchro, gas 4020 and it is fine.

The one in this second picture is a 1971 console diesel powershift. It's the one that after it ran the standby generator for 30 hours I shut it off and it wouldnt restart. I took the injection pump off last saturday morning and it is gone to the repair shop now. Thought it might have been that electric shutoff but it checked out ok. Hope I get the pump back before the holiday.

nice pictures bill, cows looked cold.

Is that a QT bale fork, on a 158?? loader. Who made it?
If you got time, I'd sure like to see a picture of the way it hooks on and latches. I'm looking for one myself.

Its a quick attach bale spear but its not a deere 158 like it says it is. Its actually a Farmhand 258A. When I repainted the tractor and loader I couldnt get Farmhand decals for it so I called up K&K and got a set for a 158.
