Got a call from my Daughter this morning said her car was smoking. She was about 2 mi from home on her way to Los Angeles area with her daughter. Out town is about 90 mi away. She pulls over, and I said I will be right there. I get there, and the car is running fine. I took her car home to check it out. She proceded to LA with my pickup. As I'm test driving her car, at a stop light I notice all the cars are smoking. All it was was condensation from the tail pipe, she noticed while stopped at a light. We need to get used to cold weather. We have having some really cold nights. Got down to low 30's a day or two. Don't laugh that is cold for so.Calif. Stan

That's a smart mistake. Praise her because when in doubt, she played it safe. Wish my equipment was treated so well.

Makes me think of the White 2-135 that one of the big dairy farmers had around here that had a head gasket fail. The tractor was billowing white smoke and the hired man just continued running it at full throttle until the motor seized.

Years ago she was driving our chevy chevett, and it did start smoking (steam) she decided to drive it home on the freeway thought she could make it. Well she didn't make it. the car stopped, and she accepted a ride from a stranger. That could have ended up not so good. She probably remembered that. Stan

And reminds me of when I had my 8 year old son driving the pickup in the hayfield when the heater core went up in steam- he's out of the truck like a shot, steam billowing out the door behind him, and he yells, "Its on fire, or something!"

She did the right thing. Too many young gals just ignore the warning lights and other signs and keep on driving.
