Anytime we ever changed Tie rod ends, etc. we'd mark and count the turns while taking it off and twist the new one on the same amount. Not perfect, but plenty safe at the high speeds you'll be driving.

Measure the length of the old one, get the new one close and install. Scribe a line around the middle of both front tires and, with the tractor on the ground, measure the distance from behind the tires and the front of the tires.
You will want the front measurement to be about 1/2" LESS than the rear measurement.
This will give you about 1/2" toe-in. Any slack you might have will pull out when in motion.

I always measure from the end of the shaft to the center of the tie rod end. If it has a grease zerk that is usually in the center. Once used the counting method only to find out that the threaded portion on the replacement part was longer.
