310 Waukesha Kit

I have heard of an "Update Kit" for the 310 Waukesha engine to alleviate the rod out the side of the block problem. I need to know what the kit consists of, where I can get one and what it costs. Any help would be appreciated

I used to have a copy of the service bulletin issued to Oliver dealers dealing with this problem, but I can"t find it right now. I believe the problem was caused by the threads pulling on the connecting rod bolts. I think there were updated bolts and new rod bolt torque specs that solved the problem, but this is just from my sometimes faulty memory from about 25 years ago. If the hardware was changed, I would think the current Agco parts listings would have the part numbers of the updated bolts in them.

It had nothing to do with "an engine kit" but had everything to do with getting the right oil cooler on the engine.

Well i am not the Oil ALL OVER expert but have worked on a few and learned some things about them . From what i have been told it has to do with Rod bolts- Oil coolers and pump timing . From what one of the best Oliver mechanic's told me was to keep pump timing set at TDC on the 1950 T's as that is when the oil hole is where it is suppose to be when she fires and not to get carried away with putting to much fuel to them . I learned alot form him on oilvers and he learned a lot about I H's from me . The owner of this one Oliver dealership use to call me in to work on any of the I H tractors that were traded in or brought in for repairs and many times in the spring when they got busy i would help out with other brands . It is sad that he passed away several years back as he took a lot of years knowledge with him as Oliver owners from all over would come to Kenny for answers to there problems .

Go to your AGCO dealer. They have the updated parts there which include one piece rod bushings and 12 point hardened rod bolts.Rotating assy should be balanced by a good machine shop.

Other good updrades include oil cooler on turbo engines and increasing oil pan capacity.

not true if you were going to do 1 thing it would be the 1 piece rod bushings thats what throws the rod and I got that from an old old oliver mechanic. The 2 piece would work there way out one or the other. I"ve seen them with the 6point bolts and 1 piece bushings and no problem as a matter of fact I have 2 myself.
