Not if yer trying to move logs in the Burmese jungle. Bears ain't worth squat in that situation.

Neat pics! I have yet to see a black bear in the wild. Everyone here has, even my wife. It took me years to see my first bald eagle. Thanks for sharing and sorry about the troll.

A new report says that bears are making their way east from the Appalachian mountains - approaching winchester WVA and frederick MD.. won't be long they'll be seen near gettysburg and baltimore county and near DC.

They always ask me "was it a big bear?"
Hey when you open the front door and the bear is within an arms lenght....There all big!

Now that the original was taken during hunting season i can tell you it's replacement is smaller.

MN Joe and group,

My understanding is that bears, like hogs, are subject to the intestinal parasite thrichonois(SP) and the meat has to be well cooked before eating to kill the parasites, if the animal has them. I'm sure commercially raised pork is treated to prevent parasites but it's best to cook pork well anyway and certainally bear meat.

bear range is expanding about 40 miles per year in all directions from the mountains, last I read.

A bear is related to the canine family. I thought they were related to the pig family.
sorry thats the only thing I could think of to say.
