IH 1566 1568

I am told these were only made in 74 &75. Yet I am finding them with the years of 78-80's. Could someone please tell me why and where I can get more info on the ones made in 74 &75?

The 1566 and the 1568 were made 74-75 and the 1586 (86 not 68) was made from 78 thru 80.

Watch the model numbers cause they are a little confusing.

So what was made between '75 and '78 in that size? Not a big IH fan... Prefer the Case's.

I believe the 1586 started in 76.

He was asking about 78 thru 80.

To clear this up.1466 and 1566 had a dt-436 in line 6 engine and was built from '71 to '75 1468 and 1568 had a d550 v8 diesel engine. The 1468 ran from '71 to '74. the 1568 ran from '74 to '75. they were replaced by the 1486 and 1586 with 436 cid turbo charged diesel engines in '76. They were replaced by the 88 series in, I believe, '82
