How's spring planting coming along?

Here in S. Ind & S. Ill it seems just a small fraction of corn has been planted. I have some spiking thru as of Fri but still have about half to plant. It looks as thought less than 1/4 has been planted. How about your areas?

On the farm in SW North Dakota, spring planting isn't coming along at all. Zero acres on Dad's farm. He managed to get the 2590 stuck the other day working some wash-outs, waiting another week before he goes out and tries to plant the 8630 4x4 and air seeder...

Moisture is good, but at some point he needs to get the crop in. This is about the latest spring I can remember.

Oats are up here in mid Michigan, but little to no corn is in the ground. I saw a planter sitting on a headland of some sandy ground Thursday. Saw where something had been planted when I went to the stockyard Monday, but don't know if it was corn or sugarbeets. We've had 6.5 inches of rain in the past 2 weeks and more is predicted for mid next week,so looks like we're 2-3 weeks from even getting back in the field at best to even get started.

No corn planted here. I saw a lot of wheat chopped last week and the spray rigs rolling for corn but I havent even seen a planter hooked up yet. I finished planting alfalfa last Sunday, looked yesterday and it was already up.

My corn been in the gound a week and a day. Gonna help a freind get his 600+ acres in starting monday, sure hope he is ready to roll. Nothing worse than freeing yourself up to help and nothing is ready to go. Ya fail to plan, youplan to fail.

Got The Corn in the ground last Week, along with the other regular veggies Got a Gooood Rain last nite, should come right up!worked out just right, larry KF4LKU

I planted the corn April 23 and 24; as of today, roots are about an inch long and the sprout is about 1/2 inch long. Should be up in a week. This is north central Iowa, just NE of Osage.

It aint right now. We got our oats in 2 weeks ago friday, and just today I saw a little green fuzz over those feilds. In a couple more days it'll start to show up better.

It's been dry and blowing the last couple days, so I'm hoping that we can work some corn ground by mid-week.

65 acres of oats are up, auction bought grain drill worked pretty good, will be half done, about 125 acres of corn in by tomorrows end, darned marker arm broke off on the JD 7000 planter, good thing is, being a 2nd hand, helping this long time farmer, might help get it done early this year an afford some down time, he's headed for PA Amish country and the Hershey plant for a well deserved couple days off for a bus trip starting Monday. I can't believe the cost of fertilizer, he said today, if he don't make money this year, he's done, I hope that is not true, but understand the frustration just the same, doing this kind of work for nothing don't seem right.

Tom, nothing going on here in northeast Missouri at all. I haven't had a hitch pin in anything. Just about the time it gets close to drying out it rains again. Starting to get a little worrisome. Mike

Pretty fast here in southwest central MN. I still have corn to plant but I would say almost 75% is planted in my area. Big boys have been working on their beans for days. Corn that has been in the gound for 2 weeks is just "puffed up " a bit. Sounds like 70 degree days this week so things will change. It has been a cold spring, we still have no plum blossems. The wheat is coming up. Actually it is quite dry around here.

Not good because of the drought here.

Those droughts are of two day durations followed by at least a half inch of rainfall, in other words extremely soggy and waterlogged so no planting done.
