i posted this problem before, as advised i put on new battery cables, new battery and there were shorts in the wire from the key pull nob box to the starter and the coil, and the spark plug cable brass end going into the distributor. it still won't start from the battery and, it won't crank and start either. it turns over great with the new battery thx pheel

If you had juice to the coil / points / condenser with the switch off for an extended period of time I'd be starting with new points and condenser...

Rootsy... no reason to replace the condensor just 'cause the switch was left on. NO WAY is the condensor damaged by this.

that's the other thing i did someone told me to see if there was a spark on a spark plug wire against metal there isn't.
what i do know is the battery, cables, starter, wire to starter and coil and wires from coil to distributor and to plugs are good

i might be confused, is the coil the thing that plugs into the distributor, and what is a condencer

i found a picture, i had a friend who is rebuilding a 2n and knows about motors, to ck the points, he looked at the rotor arm not the points i pulled off the part that covers the points and flicked the spring point to see if they were stuck also as advised, now it starts thanks for all the help pheel
