Hello,

The engine is a 6 cyl Caterpillar Diesel engine with a firing order of 153624, and it is rated at 460 bhp.
The question is:
Is each cylinder developing the same amount of
Horse Power, or 76.66 H.P.?
Guido.

Should be producing the same power in each cylinder, if the injectors are the same and the air flows in and out are the same.

Gerald J.

In a perfect world, yes. In the real world,no .No two cylinders are the same.Too many variables.

BUT! If one cylinder goes dead , you will lose more than what that cylinder made because the others will now have to drive the dead one so you will have even less at the output shaft.

OK, so you got your answer. Now you have to tell us why you asked. I'll bet the answer to that question is much more interesting than your original question.

Hello MARKB,
I don't have the right answer yet, and I though
it was a interesting one.

HELLO MarkB,
I have a friend and we have made a bet.
He said that the all put out the same H.P.
i said no.
So I guess i win the bet.
Now we are arguing is to why?
Guido.
