PTO adapter

I have a belt pulley that mounts to the PTO of our small MF tractors. The bolts are the right pattern, but it has the older style small PTO splines. Does anyone know where can I buy and adapter to use it on the standard size PTO shaft? Due to the presence of very long bolts, I think this was done years ago, but the adapter is long gone and nobody still alive has used the pulley. Feed costs are eating me up and I am going to start using our old Meadows hammermill that is turned with a flat belt.

If you need a 1 3/8" female 6 spline to 1 1/8" male 6 spline adapter call Yesterdays Tractors and ask for parts. What you're looking for should be part# PA05. David..................

The bigger issue is that you should have a spacer that moves the drive out the same amount as the adapter.
I have seen these, they do exist...somewhere.
If you go the other way (small pto on tractor/large spline on gearbox), there is a simple 'shell' that goes on the PTO and doesn't make it longer, so you don't need the spacer on the outside.

Those shaft adapters are made in different lengths and that length determins the length of the spacer that fits in there, the orignal adapters used a set of short bolts to fasten the adapter to the tractor and then anouther set of bolts to fasten the pully to the tractor. Have no idea how to attach a scand picture of the adapter or I would post the picture.

I don't have the spacer, but it doesn't look like much trouble to make one. I think I might just use 4 pieces of 1/2" pipe as a spacer. I could also cut some oak on my sawmill and make one but I think the pipe would be easier and work as well.

The problem with the pipe spacers will be keeping them from bending with side pressure that you get with a belt pully. Make sure you get all cuts absoulty straight (Not off even by a 1/2*) as that will want to put the shaft in a bind. Do all cuts with a power hacksaw that holds the pieces while doing the cutting, you can't cut straight enough by hand. Now after they are cut and use a pipe that can be welded, not galvanized, now cut strips of flat iron to fit between all pipes, bale sides of a box, and weld them in. Will take care of side stress.
