Here, fall corn -- $3.27 and fall beans -- $9.31. Yuck and double yuck on the corn. Plus, needed an inch the other day and only got .4". Luckily we got something.

Ain't it wild what a year can do? Not long ago folks on some other sites were saying that $4 is the new bottom, some folks said that the American Farmer can never grow enough $2 corn. Wasn't there some one on this site who last fall said we would see $2 by the end of this year?

I got $4.09 for my wheat out of the field this year. It made 69 or 70 bu/acre. Last year I had it contracted for $10.08 but it made only 53.

The fluctuations make it hard to plan anything.

Isn't it odd how grain prices can fall so fast, but seed and fertilizer dont drop nearly as fast.

A couple of years ago, the corn stoves were very popular where I live and they couldn't make them fast enough. Last year, not too many people could afford to feed them. Looks like they will be popular again this winter.
