I need help bad.
As I was enroute to the garage my wife ask me to pick up some old clothes from the laundry room and take what I wanted for grease rags so I took them out to the garage and just layed them on the dirty work bench, while cutting up rags, I got down to the last item, It's her new bluejeans and they were laying on a caulking gun with liquid nails that I was just using. It wont scrape off, just smears
what method will work ?? as I said they are new and dark blue, I don't want to leave white marks, probably have to tell her and go buy another new pair.

(heh) I am sympathetic - we have all been in a pickle like that. It's usually best to take it like a man, fess up, and go buy her another pair of jeans. It's always the man's fault. Read the tag and get her the same brand, size, etc.

Although there is this - you know what some guys do about stray/dumped dogs, right? You don't have to shoot those jeans, just shovel and shut up.

Use a powerful solvent like......Turpentine, or mineral spirits, or fuel, WD-40, If all else fails just say. ---Well, you wanted that whole pile of clothes out to the garage. (new jeans are not expensive) If she gets pi$$ed off then offer up a nice restaurant meal or something---You know, Arbys or Wendys.

Thinking of trying that, but will it remove color?

Trying the bubble gum freezer thing now. saw that may work.

Do not follow this example! My last wife was throwing a fit because she had burned a silk blouse on the sleeve with the iron. This went on and on so I said I could fix it. I went out to the barn and cut both sleeves off the blouse. Got real quiet for a longgggggg time.

Buy her a new pair. :)

Make sure you march right in the house and blame her for being dumb enough to let you do a job that only a woman is qualified for. Then make friends with the dog cuz thats where you will be sleeping. Just fess up and take your lumps man, nothing else will satisfy her.

Maybe she set you up. Did they fit really good?
Just tell her you"ll go get her the same color and size and see how she reacts. :<))

Just teasing.

She hasn't wore them in front of me yet , She always pre washes before using.

She says she don't know what or how many others tried them on in fitting rooms.

Even so If I said that, I would be going to a funeral. :(

That's an easy one OLD ROY,,,,, just put some Lighter Fluid on the spot, and take a kitchen spoon and work it till it starts to loosen up, be generous with the fluid

keep doing that, cause it will take a while,
after it loosens up, use some 409 on the spot and work that in for a short time, then,
put it in the washing machine, and it will come out,

don't rub it hard, go very lightly on the spot, and you will see it come lose. if you over do it,, it will take some color out. so go very lightly,

Poor Old Roy,,, always can use an expert when in trouble...
I used lighter fluid on my uniforms when I got ink on them, and they come right out.

I for got to add Old Roy,,, the Lighter Fluid is easy to buy at any hardwear store, and that will loosen up the caulking, but go lightly,

and the 409 will dissolve the Ligher Fluid so it can be washed out easly,

It"s important to go lightly on the spot and wash it right when your done working the spot , some times it comes out all the way, and if not, it can be done again after it"s washed, but after drying, it will set itself, and cannot be removed.

From your Friendly Expert in solving problems with solutions, Go Zeke...

There is a product called Goof-Off available at most Hardwares and Grocery's. That is probably your best bet. I suspect you my owe her a new pair of dress jeans and have to relagate these to work pants.
A drycleaner MIGHT get it out but liquid nails is a bad one esp if it is set up. If you go to a drycleaner make sure it is a shop that actually does cleaning and not a drop off shop where the cloths are sent elsewhere. Show the problem area to the cleaner and explain what it is. Don't just expect them to clean it. His spotter needs all the help and info they can to have a chance with this one.

Tell her you are going to take it in for DNA samples. If she says "burn them" you are in deep doo doo.

GO Zeke I gotta give credit where credit is due That idea is working Where did you come up with that ?? Thanks !!

Some has come off with your system, but I noticed I do have to keep it wet with fluid to keep it flexible so far the color seems to be staying, if left soak over night, do you think it will hurt the denim ? like bleach would do?

No,,,Lighter fluid won't hurt the fabric,, but I would not trust 409, that's just for allowing you to wash out the Lighter Fluid.

It may take a few washing, but go Lightly,

Your Good Old Roy, when you want to be,,
and your welcome,,,
Just don't take it so hard when I try giving correction --- although, I know it's almost impossible to accept correction for any one,

being in Law Enforcement puts me in a state of giving correction, and I know, very few like cops, but we all can use correction from time to time,

If you don't have 409, you can use a deluted dish soap or laundry soap to break up the Lighter fluid, just need enough to wash it out,

I used that idea on my uniforms when I get spots that where like yours, or ink stains.

Well I took a chance, and soaked a piece of cloth, covered it with a sandwich bag, and put a telephone book on it to help seal, to slow evaporation overnight.

Although some had come off in the first effort this made it much easier to remove enough that it is now very unnoticeable, and at our age not too many people will be staring there anyway. LOL.

We do have a dry cleaner not too far away, but would not let me have the solvent they use, don't know why? all I needed was a little bit. Might be they use the same thing and don't want to let out a secret. LOL

Well Thanks again!! catch you later, Bye.

Your the man Old Roy,,, glad you had success,,,
your right about the dry-cleaner, they have some weird ways of helping some one out, I suppose they wanted the job and charge you 20 bucks for the job you can do yourself.
