I need to add weight to the front of my F-3600 (diesel 2WD) AND I have no bumper. I need to find a new front end (grill and cowling)and bumper and weights but can't find the weights and bumper that match up. Anyone know where I can find them? How much weight should I use for safest operation?

Depending were your located, check a salvage yard. Last year I got the weight bracket for my 4610 Ford at a local tractor salvage yard. It wasent cheap....The bracket was$125.00 and the weights were $60.00 or a buck a pound. I put four on the front of mine,240 pounds. I think it will hold 6 weights thought. jinNY

Bumper weights are going to be hard to find... they're out there, but not all that many. Some what more common are front wheel weights. Another option might be to get a weight bracket for suitcase weights (at a salvage yard, off ebay, have one fabricated, or buy a new one ($$!) from New Holland). How much weight...? Depends on what you're going to hang off the back... enough so your front wheel stay put! Probably 300-400 pounds should be plenty.

Forgot to add... a weight bracket for a 4000 or bigger will not work... you need the bracket for the 2000/3000/4000SU (or later models).

Suggestions, not an expert opinion:

Make a heavy front bumper and add some scrap iron to it.

Be sure there are tubes in the front tires and put CaCL in them.

Put weights on front wheels. Don't know how hard they would be to find, but some old plows might have some to fit.

NH dealer can get aftermarket weights & holder from Canada much cheaper that new Ford parts.

Thanks! The responses are much better than I can get anywhere else. Does anyone have the best site to order older Ford tractor parts? Like that dag-blamed bumper I can't seem to find? MGB
