What all are you going to do/work on this fall and winter when farming is done? Go to Florida? Rebuild broken down equipment? Restore an antique? Me i am catching up on some old unfinished projects a tractor being one.

Figure out how to mount a CC snowblower on a Power King,,, mount a side mount sicklebar on a PK,,mount a snowblade on a different PK,,sheet rock the walls of the stair well,, maybe get a JD 110 going, rebuild a cider press,, work on restoring the 29 Essex. Winter probably will be to short, BUT how can winter be too short?

In order starting now: Replace the furnace in my house, rear axle bearings in my Allis B, build a snowplow for my Ford 3000, head gasket replace and hydraulic pump install on my Case DO, finish building my self propelled transplanter, clear back some hedges, install deer fencing, and build brush forks for my Case DO if time allows. If I can get through all these things it will be a really good winter.

Its is exactly the same project I had planned for last winter. I bought 1967 IH 1200B pickup in the fall of 07 and it needs some work and it hasnt moved an inch in about 10 months now. I have got to get than thing so I can run around in it!

Going to get my Oil City/South Penn 20HP oilfield engine going. Been walking around it too many years. Getting the last of the parts found/made as I type.

Build a Green House. As we live north of 60 the growing season is short so I hope to gain a month & a half on each end of the growing season. Wood burner & all. Gerald

They did not make the Essex Tri-D in 29! That was the year of the union strike. I hope the seller didn't skin you too bad telling you it was a 29 :)

I'm one of them "better to have and not need than need and not have" guys. Got a real small place that clutters easy. Started cleaning house with the plan to be able to see everything I have and be able to sweep every inch of floorspace on the place. Didn't realize how much of a mess I had made. When I can get to tools and see workbenches, I'll prolly start slapping on some paint here and there. Looking for a small baler that I can use w/ my tractor and a small, non PTO driven hay rake and windrow machine that I can pull with my quad (fits under fruit trees better) sure they will require some TLC. Unfortunately, if you ask this question next fall, I may do a copy paste
Oh, and I am about halfway through new siding on the frt of my barn. Fat guy running up and down a ladder and installing 18 ft sawmill boards (straight) alone doesn't make for fast progress..... B&A pics when finished.

Tweak a new corn planter. Take off some stuff, change some stuff, add some stuff.
Go over an AC WD45 I just bought, and add a side mounted sickle bar mower. Then I'll have a dedicated trimming tractor!
Find a corn head for my new-to-me combine.
Maybe get another grain truck put together.

going to try to figure out how to survive in the world of Osama/external_link. No funds for anything but paying bills and trying to stay afloat. Life sucks. My dog has a better life than I do. I wish I had never been born.

Gee, I hadn't given it much thought. Fall snuck up on me kind of sudden. Every year my winter to do list is a lot like New Years resolutions. Once I get started making such a list, time and money are no constraint. About midway through January I realize that I have nowhere near enough time or money to do everything.

That being said, with older equipment, there are always things repair or things to maintain so I don't have to repair them.

Last winter I built a new workshop, so I can have all my tools and stuff in one place. Well, I got busy in the spring sooner than anticipated and was not able to finish all of the wiring and a bunch of other stuff I'd like to do. That is probably the big thing I want to do.

Dam dude.If you want sympathy, why not start your own thread so everyone can coddle you without changing the subject of the original post???

Hey Dave2,
You know, life here is not worth living for me, I've thought many times about ending it, wishing I had never been born and if I could, I would go back and prevent it. You see at this stage in my life, life really don't mean all that much. I wouldn't expect you to understand as you probably have a nice life, a family, buddies to do $hit with and a reason for being here. I dont' have any of that and I really just don't give a crap anymore. our country is being run by a illegal alien from Kenya adn our country is being slowly given away.
I don't like feeling like this but jerks like you really give me no choice. Reading about all you guys getting to do restorations and shows and stuff sounds so good and I wish like all get out I could be able to do soemthing like that. There is just no way it can happen and by the tiem I retire there is not going to be free country left to do something like that anyhow. I would really like to be able to tell you what I really think about you and people like you who look down on us that are not up in your scale of life but I don't want to use that kind of language. I wish you much pain in your life and while your having that pain, maybe you can stop and think about the pain myself and others like me are going thru at this time.

Hope to finish the "clean up" on Vernon our 56 Model 70.

Might start on the JD #3 sickle mower.

Might start on the 9ft. JD 350 sickle mower.

Might just cut and split firewood all winter.

Will cut back on farm labor hours; will try to "get r' done" between 10am and 2pm with 1 hour lunch break.

Not looking down on you at all. Just after reading everyone offering support and suggesting you get some professional help etc.

Then you come back with the same thing about the 1st week of every month. Think you have it bad, have a look at the website above and ask yourself if things are really that bad for you. Any one of these kids would prolly love to grab a bottle and start pecking on a keyboard.

Hope things turn around for you.

Hey Dave,
I was not having a very good day yesterday and I do want to apologise for kinda flying off the handle. Professional help will not help my problems, work and jobs and income are the only thing right now that will help anything and I know we are in a tight time money wise in this country but I'm seeing everyone else blowing adn going.
I do not like feeling the way I do but when you have been black balled by your family and seems like forgotten by just about everyone and you don't have anything in common with anyone, when your fighting everyday with only you to shoulder all the load, it just wears ya down and thats the point that I'm at.

I am truly sorry about the attitude of the previous post, just too many things going on and it was just a way to vent I guess. Hope you will fogive me. I know its been a frequent deal on my feelings but honestly things are just not getting much better if any and when you are alone it just makes it worse.

I hope things will balance out soon because if they don't I'm going to go nuts.

I'm sorry everyone, just bear with me and if you get a chance drop a prayer for me, Lord knows I can use everyone I can get.
