bush hog seal

have you already tried googleing up a source? If i couldnt find it that way, see if your local brush hog dealer (if you have one) can get you one, or try calling brush hog directly.

I have a company I use and they say it shows a double lip seal. the one I took out was like the rope seals in the rear mains of engines only it had a tin casing not sure what to do now

Put the old one back and fill the box up with high temp pump gun grease.Been running an old hog for years like that.Could not find a replacement for it either.Keep a check on it and it will run fine.

the seal has prolly been upgraded to the new style with the double lip. check the shaft for any burrs or if there is a groove worn in it from the old seal, if so, it may need a speedy sleeve. the new type seal should run fine.

An Industrial bearing and seal house should be
able to cross over that seal number to a current
part number. National seals was purchased by
Timkin bearings and is now Timkin seals. Their
catalog is as big as the old Sears catalog.

(quoted from post at 21:52:05 09/29/09) called him and he is working on it thanks
If you put the new seal in and it still leaks, you may have bent the output shaft. Like others have said-fill it with 00 gease. :D

it leaked because it was old and dry when I took the bearing retainer off it fell apart. Brian was able to help me out he even gave me the updated #
