Update on the 5 hp air compressor motor starting problem posted a few days back. It did end up being one of the three start capicitors. Tore it apart and looked like a bad or deteriorated terminal solder connection. Not much to them. Probably why they last forever. This thing starts better than it has in last 10 yrs. Throw the switch and it is up to speed immediatly. In 28 yrs of dusty body shop use , this compressor has only cost me $85 in repairs. Repaired open start circuit ($75 15 yrs ago) and $10 for this capicitor. Ingersol-Rand / Baldor , hard to beat. Thanks again , John and Gerald. Randy.
