Can someone explain how power gets to the temp gauge on a Massey 245. I have no power getting to the gauge. The wire comes from the alternator and hooks to the oil switch and to the temp gauge. Also can you explain how the oil switch works and what it does? Thanks Trent

Thanks Tim, I have put a new oil switch on it but even with it running I get no power through the it. I thought that was probably how the power was suppose to get over there but I wasn't sure. Got power going into the oil switch but not coming out. Whats the chance the new oil switch is bad?

one thing you can try is to start the tractor and check for continuity across the pressure switch. Also do you know if the switch is actually getting pressure?

I went back and put it all back together and checked for continuity across the oil pressure switch with the tractor running and there was none. The oil gauge still shows pressure as it always has. The thing is, all the gauges were working before I put the new oil switch on and while I had the panel off I took the gauges out and tightened them as they were really lose in the panel. The only problem with this was the temp gauge was grouned when i first put it back together and sparked. Don't know if it messed it up or not. Is there a way to check to see if it is still working properly?
