New Idea 701 with 4 row 30" head.

Picked 30 loads with very little trouble.Went too quickly,was LOTS of fun!!

1st year with this beast.I like the idea of opening a field with a self-propelled unit vs. using a pull-type.My Oliver 83 NR picker got the year off.Corn ran REAL well!!

We just sold our old 701. That 292 was one thirsty gas guzzler.

Nice video! Looks just like the one I owned with a friend of mine back in 1985. We did a lot of custom work with it that fall. The price of corn was low, the crop was good and people were looking for extra room to store the crop. Back then they would still fill their old cribs if they needed extra space - most wouldn't even think of doing that today. Bet you had a hard time keeping the full wagons away from that outfit!

Yeah, I remember that, too! I think the tank held 80 gallons and that wouldn't last a whole day!

Cool! Takes forever with a 2 row & smaller wagons, would be nice to use the 300 bu size wagon.

What moisture you running over there? Can't find anything under 29.3 here by New Ulm, and stuff that dry I need to send to the elevator by the kernal. The ear corn field is running 33-36% yet. That's a little high to put in a crib for long-term.....

We cribbed this corn last week at 25%.Unfortunately,this ear corn is the only thing we got out of the field so far.

Beans were at 18% before the rain and fields are mud again.Alot of guys drying beans this year.Never seen it in my lifetime before this!

Elevator shut down for wet corn for 2 days here, ran beans through the drier.

Other coop, they have a bin full of ~16% beans, and corn is coming in so they will have to air them & hope the cool weather keeps them fresh until they get a chance to dry them down. Perhaps they arre using this rainy period to do so, I haven't stopped by for a few days - too wet to bring them anything.

Neighbor put his beans in the bin, and will just blow air for several weeks. I'd be real nervious.....

Took my beans in yesterday. All of Harvestland elevators with Springfield are taking wet soybeans and running them thru the dryer. I only had 7 acres that was combined Oct 27th after 10 PM. They tested 19.3 moistrure. Was going to try and use the screw in exhaust fans in the wagon....Was told that people are bringing in beans alot wetter than mine. Neighbor was combining in the rain Thursday. The night mine went out a neighbor ran till 1 AM. I was going to store my beans at home...But wasn"t sure if I could get them dry enough with just air. Sold them....Better than having them turn black. Now lets see what happens with the corn.

That's pretty cool. I never saw one of those in action before. We always used a one row tractor powered picker when I was a kid.

Just wondering if you do any further processing to your picked corn or just store it and use it for feed cob and all? Nice video and great to see a machine such as yours working good. Have a good one.

We crib it up and grind it with mixer-mill for steer feed,cob and all.Glad you enjoyed it!

They'll be picking ear corn in Walnut Illinois tomorrow, Nov.1. Zip code 61376. they've got a lot of pickers there, along with good food. they got into the field a bit today at the end, and expect to do more tomorrow. Excellent show for a Sunday! You'll see the sign at the last street going East out of town on Rt 92.
I was there today and it was great.
