I'm looking into buying an old Ferguson, but the owner thinks it's a 9N Ford. He said on a tag it says "Sister Ferguson" Does anyone know what this means? Does it indicate it's a Ferguson, or what size it is, or what? Any help I can get would be appreciated.

You don't suppose the tag says "Ferguson SYSTEM", do you???

If it MAY be a Ford, have a gander at the site linked below.

Could be a Fergy TO-20, etc.
Identify

If it has a flathead engine it is an old Ford. If
it has an overhead valve engine it is a Ferguson.
I have never heard the term Sister Ferguson. As
Bob said it is probably Ferguson system. Old Ford
tractors were incorrectly called Ford-Fergusons,
but it is a Ford with Ferguson system. What a
great identity post thru Bob. Chuck

if the fuel tank is connected to the hood,it is a ford,9n,2n,or 8n.if the hood tilts forward to access the fuel tank, and radiator, then it is a ferguson,to-20,te,tea-20,to,te,tea-30,cw

It may be incorrect to call them a Ford-Ferguson but thats what everyone I knew called them, even the dealer where my Dad bought his.
