sherman hoe

Jim---please clarify---are you looking for a picture of an N Tractor with the "Sherman gear reduction" unit in it, or is there a Sherman Rotary Hoe Implement you are asking about?

Dearborn and Ferguson both made rotary hoes for use on the N Series Tractors---if this is what you need a picture of, let me know.

The hoes attached at the lift pins and the toplink.

Below is a thread from 2002 showing a picture of the gear reduction unit and shifter in case that is what you are looking for.

I've had several on N series tractors. The Sherman hoe is a pretty flimsly rig, as far as backhoes goe. Sorry I don't have better photos.

Sherman "trannies" have shifter mostly on clutch side of the tractor, some have a cable system on the right side of the tractor.

I assume he means a Sherman backhoe, usually just just called a "hoe" where I live. Sherman hoes on Ns series tractors used to be very common in my area. I bought one up in northern Michigan last summer for $500, so I guess they're around there also.

I have only seen one of the backhoes and it was for sale locally at one of the cemeteries----they used it for digging graves....

There is a complete manual listing for this backhoe on the "other site"....

Can't visualize how you could dig a hole as big as that bucket, without bending that cute little main beam into a pretzel.
